Etsy Love!

So I'm trying to find ways to promote my shop. I sent along a message to the lovely Amy Donda of Amula.

She sent a bunch of helpful information about blogging, giveaways and other different ideas to promote my shop. I'm going to look into them, but of course in a slow fashion due to life and law school!

It's Friday!

Gosh it has been busy for a while. Not so much in my crafting world, but in my real world.

I'm almost done with my last few weeks in school before I head off to an internship. Lots of work to do! Friends to see, clients to work with, and writing to do. Not to mention all the packing! I hate packing. I've been doing it a lot lately, however. Ick. There is so much stuff one accumulates in 7 years of their life. I'm sure I'm going to end up leaving stuff behind, probably angering my room mates.

Anyways, big news is my FIRST craft fair is going to be Sunday Feb. 19. I saw a post for it in my local neighborhood of JP (Jamaica Plain), Massachusetts. It's just a wee flea market in a space near a T station. I hope I get some foot traffic. My more Etsy site has had just 8 sales! Though 8 is better than 0.

I must get back to work- got to do some research and meet with a professor!

I posted a ton of new listings in the last few days! Most of them are from a talented member of Elysia Crafts- in fact, my friend Lizzie who taught me to bead! She is an amazing wire-wrapper and she is incredibly creative in her designs.

So I've been trying to work on my photography- really hard because I have horrible natural light where I live! Very frustrating. I brought my camera into school today but sunshine= shadows!!! I've printed a tutorial on photography from Etsy, and will watch some videos tonight. All I can hope for is an overcast day I think. It's so much easier to take photos in foggy San Francisco!!

Anyways- I've listed an item I had previously forgotten about. A fun pair of crazy cluster earrings. I had taken these photos in SF- I can't get over how easy the lighting is there. Anyways, here it is!

I thought this would be a fun twist on all the Valentine's Day treasuries I've been seeing. I themed for my Boston, where I currently live.

Maine!

This weekend, four friends of mine and I went up to a friend's family house in Maine. It was beautiful! Here is the view from the back porch.

We had a great time. It was so relaxing! The house was just built last year, everything was new and it was just the most amazing space. When we first got in, we had fun just opening up all the doors and checking it out.

My friends built a lovely fire Saturday afternoon before we began a movie marathon.

We then watched 3 movies in a row! It was great. I got a lot of beading done, though I mostly gave the items to my friends I was with. I had a great time. I hadn't had that much time to bead on holiday vacation so this was most welcome.

This morning we took a walk. Though I hate the cold- it was very beautiful! Here's a scene.

Overall, a great weekend! Now back to reality. I've got a class at 10 in the morning, so I better go to bed! Here is a sample of one of the earrings I made in Maine. The photo isn't great- but it was dark when we got back, so I couldn't get any natural light. Really makes a difference!

New Blog!

Hello all! I've started a new blog- Elysia Blog!

It'll be mostly about my life, me, friends, fashion, books and of course, crafts! I may transition my crafting to the Elysia Crafts blog, but for now I'll keep it here.

I hope to include lots of photos on the blog, especially because I got a new camera for Christmas.
